John M. Schiff Scout Reservation : ウィキペディア英語版 | Theodore Roosevelt Council
The Theodore Roosevelt Council, 386 is a local council of the Boy Scouts of America. It is one of the nation's oldest, having been home to its namesake, the former US President, who was a founding member of BSA. ==History== The council was established in 1917 and was originally named the Nassau County Council. Although Nassau County was the primary residence of Theodore Roosevelt, the Theodore Roosevelt name was taken by another council in Arizona. That council was merged into the Grand Canyon Council in 1993,〔(About Section W4C )〕 freeing the name, and the Nassau County Council assumed the Theodore Roosevelt name in September 1997.〔(2008 Theodore Roosevelt Dinner brochure )〕
